For weeks now on "The Office," Jim and Pam have been going through a really rough patch in their marriage. It got so bad that Pam broke down and found some comfort in the arms of Brian, the boom mic guy from the documentary crew. This week saw Jim back in Scranton for Valentine's Day, but after a lunch date with Brian things got tense again. Pam had never told him she was crying and venting to Brian about everything.
Rather than have their romantic bottle of wine, Jim decided he would rather just go back to Philly so they wouldn't fight. But Pam made the more difficult decision to work for their marriage.
"I don’t think you should go to Philly tonight. I think you should stay and I think we should fight," she told him.
"You really want to fight on Valentine’s Day?" he asked her. "OK. Alright. Put your dukes up Beesly."
It may have a hint of sweetness to it, but the fight that followed -- and was not captured by the documentary crew -- was probably both brutal and healing. Here's hoping it's a sign of better things to come for the couple.
Elsewhere in the office, Andy finally came back from his three month hiatus. He'd never told David Wallace about it, and almost got away with it. That is until Erin finally decided she didn't want to be with him anymore and mentioned his long absence while David was on speaker phone. Oops!
The final season of "The Office" continues on Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
