New York Fashion Week Backstage Beauty: '60s Statement Eyes At Rag & Bone Fall 2013 (PHOTOS)

'60s Statement Eyes At Rag & Bone

"She's cool, but pretty," Gucci Westman said backstage of the Rag & Bone girl before the fall 2013 show. Westman, who just happens to be married to the label's owner and designer David Neville, is the makeup mastermind behind this retro-inspired look.

"When we started off, I did like a crazy neon color, and I was like, 'No, that’s not Rag & Bone at all," said Westman. "Then I did white, which everybody liked, but it felt a bit too conceptual, so black just seemed like more Rag & Bone. She's not afraid to make a statement."

And these are some statement-making eyes for sure. Westman used Revlon ColorStay Liquid Eye Pen in Blackest Black, drawing a line within the socket and extending outward for a graphic touch. To tone down for everyday wear, Westman suggests a much shorter line. The eyelash style was girly indeed with a '60s-inspired style reminiscent of Twiggy. She accentuated the false eyelashes using Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara in Blackest Black.

While the eyes are definitely the standout part of this look, Westman also took time to sculpt the models' cheeks. And lips were kept simple with Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Supermodel. "It’s not too crazy ... and there's not too much effort. It really takes like two minutes to do anyways," she said.
