Note to sports franchises: Bringing a live version of your team's mascot into the arena is not necessarily a good idea. This is especially true if your club's namesake is a wild animal, like a condor.

The Bakersfield Condors of the ECHL learned this the hard way on Friday evening when a live Andean Condor got loose in the arena before a game against the Las Vegas Wranglers.

As the large, likely frightened bird of prey surveyed its surroundings and looked for a way out, the alternately slipping, singing and scared humans involved gave the incident a decidedly slapstick air. According to the team's official Twitter account, the condor is "OK."

The video of the condor eventually made its way to Sportscenter.

You may remember the Bakersfield Condors from previous publicity stunts like mocking the bankruptcy of an opponent's city.

What will they come up with next?
