Sarah Jessica Parker On 'The Carrie Carrie Diaries': Actress Turned Down Offer To Appear On CW Series (REPORT)

Did Sarah Jessica Parker Say No To 'The Carrie Diaries'?

Sarah Jessica Parker on "The Carrie Diaries"? Not so fast.

The "Sex And The City" actress reportedly turned down a $500,000 deal to appear on an episode of The CW's "Sex And The City" prequel in a flash-forward sequence.

"Sarah doesn't need the money and wasn't sure appearing on the show would be the right career move," an insider told The National Inquirer.

Centering on the life of teenage Carrie Bradshaw portrayed by AnnaSophia Robb, "The Carrie Diaries" follows Carrie's early adventures in New York City while she faces the typical challenges of being a teenager.

"When I landed the role, [Sarah Jessica Parker] sent me a really lovely letter giving me her blessing and encouragement, and then I bumped into her at a fashion show very briefly," Robb told HuffPost TV of her relationship with Parker, adding, "I don't think anyone can run in heels better than Sarah Jessica Parker."

When reached by HuffPost, Parker's rep declined to comment.

"The Carrie Diaries" airs on Mondays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
