Underage Sex Worker, One Year After Her Rescue (VIDEO)

WATCH: Lisa Ling Visits Underage Sex Worker One Year After Rescue

Ashley can't sleep in the dark. But it's not a horror movie she once saw that keeps her awake at night; instead, she is haunted by the horrific life she was once forced to live. At 10 years old, Ashley's cousin forced her to have sex with men for money. A victim of domestic sex trafficking, Ashley then joined the ranks of thousands of American children who are bought and sold in the streets at night.

"I'm pretty scared that in the dark, you can't really see," says Ashley. "So when I go to sleep, I have to check my windows to make sure someone won't climb in my windows and stuff, and then…when the lights are off, I feel like I [am] seeing things, so that's why I sleep with my lights on."

With the help of a sex trafficking advocate and her foster family, Ashley was able to escape living life on the streets, and her progress with a new foster family was documented in an episode of "Our America with Lisa Ling" last season. Tune in for an update of "3 a.m. Girls" at 10 p.m. ET on February 12 on OWN to find out how Ashley and the rest of the victims' stories have played out since the show's original airing.
