Jennifer Beals is headed to Venice.

Beals will play the family matriarch in the ABC pilot, which centers on two rival families living in the California city. The actress will reunite with her "L Word" executive producer Ilene Chaiken, who will serve as the showrunner on "Venice."

Cheyenne Jackson has joined Amazon's "Onion" pilot. Jackson will star opposite Jeffrey Tambor in the "The Onion Presents: The News" as a young news anchor named Cameron. [Deadline]

Sadie Calvano is on board for "Mom." Calvano will play Christy's (Anna Faris) daughter Violet in the CBS comedy from Chuck Lorre. [TVLine]

Bojana Novakovic Is "Rake"-bound. The "Edge Of Darkness" actress will play Keegan Joye's (Greg Kinner) love interest Mikki. [THR]

Skyler Samuels has been cast as the lead in "Bloodlines." Samuels will play Bird Benson in NBC's pilot, a teenager caught in the middle of a battle between two warrior families living in the suburbs. [Deadline]

Tommy Dewey has joined Seth McFarlane's "Dads." The "Mindy Project" actor will star in the new Fox comedy pilot as a video game entrepreneur named Warner. [TVLine]
