Family Guy Slams Arizona Illegal Immigration Crackdown (VIDEO)

Irreverent cartoon comedy show "The Family Guy" slammed Arizona over its crackdown on illegal immigration this week.

Consuela, the Griffin's dour Mexican maid, appears at a border checkpoint, where she bolts into Mexico to see her husband for Valentine's Day. As she sets off, Border Patrol agents see her and begin shooting.

"Wait, but she's sneaking out of the U.S.," one Border Patrol agent says to the other. "This is Arizona -- we can shoot a Mexican for using a water fountain," his partner responds.

It isn't surprising the show would target the southwestern state. When Arizona passed its controversial crackdown on illegal immigration, SB 1070, "Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarland likened the state to Nazi Germany.

"Walking down the street, a cop can come up to you and say 'May I see your papers?' -- I think they should be required to ask that question in German if the law sticks around," MacFarland told Reuters in 2010. "When I read that, I said, 'Wow, that's more shocking and egregious than anything we've ever done on the show, and it's a law."
