Joe Gentz Sentencing: Handyman To Be Sentenced In Jane Bashara Murder Case

After Delay, Joe Gentz Faces Sentencing in Bashara Murder Case

(DETROIT) -- Just over a year after the anniversary of Jane Bashara's death, the man who admitted to killing her will be sentenced Tuesday in Wayne County Circuit Court.

According to the Detroit News, Joseph Gentz, who admitted to strangling Bashara in January 2012, faces sentencing after pleading guilty to second-degree murder last year. Gentz, 48, faces 17 to 28 years in prison.

Gentz told investigators that he killed Bashara after her husband, Robert, offered him cash in return for the job.

Robert Bashara has not been charged in relation to his wife's death, but is currently serving a prison sentence after he admitted to attempting to hire a hit man to kill Getz.
