Johnny Galecki Wants 'The Big Bang Theory' To Drag Out The Leonard And Penny Drama For As Long As Possible (VIDEO)

'Stretch It Out As Long As Possible'

Johnny Galecki stopped by "Live! With Kelly & Michael" Wednesday, and the hosts made sure to ask the question on every "Big Bang Theory" fan's mind: Will Leonard and Penny ever get past the awkward on-and-off, back-and-forth phase their relationship is currently stuck in? Galecki's answer was somewhat surprising.

"I hope not. I want them to stretch it out as long as possible. And there's not a lot of comedy in, 'Now everything goes well,'" Galecki said, before clarifying that he would like to see them end up happily ever after when the show ends.

The couple has been suffering from some serious commitment-phobia in recent weeks. First, they almost moved in together before Penny decided she wasn't ready. Then, on the show's Valentine's Day episode, Penny revealed that she's ambivalent about ever getting married, and Leonard promised never to propose to her again.

"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
