PHOTOS: Incredible Images From NYC's Underground

The MTA's East Side Access project may not be slated to finish till 2019, but new, breathtaking images taken by the agency's resident photographer, Patrick Cashin, reveal the massive undertaking is well underway.

The project, which is the largest construction venture in the country, is estimated to cost a staggering $8.24 billion. When all's done, New York City will have six miles of brand new underground tunnels, which will allow for Long Island Rail Road trains to access Grand Central Terminal for the first time.
