Whole Foods Chicken Ad Featuring Obama Removed After Customer Says It's Offensive (VIDEO)

WATCH: Is This Whole Foods Ad Featuring Obama Racist?

A Whole Foods on the Upper West Side is under fire after the supermarket placed a chicken advertisement featuring the face of President Barack Obama.

NBC reports the ad was originally placed outside the Columbus Avenue and 97th Street location to promote a sale of organic chicken.

A resident voiced his concerns over what he said was a racist display, and the store removed the advertisement.

A Whole Foods spokesman said the store chucked the drawing "once it was brought to our attention by a shopper that it may be perceived as offensive."

Considering Whole Food's liberal learnings, and that this particular store was located in the liberal bastion of the Upper West Side, the sign likely didn't endear them to any customers.

This isn't the first time the president's likeness has been used in questionable fashion.

Outrage ensued when a restaurant named Obama Fried Chicken opened in China, featuring a picture of the president's face on top of the body of Colonel Sanders.

And in December, a Kentucky man defended a mannequin of the president eating a watermelon he had planted on his front yard, insisting the depiction was in no way racist.
