Kelly Ripa was clearly pretty excited about her upcoming Oscar gig during her appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." She said that she'll be the first person the celebrities see after winning this Sunday. Because of their heightened emotions in that moment, they have a tendency to open up more.
"People would reveal things to me," she said. "They’re like, ‘I was born with both!’ You know, I’m like, “Oh my God!'" Okay, that one was probably a joke, though it surely left some people wondering, who said that!?
Ripa needs to keep her enthusiasm in check, though. She talked about a near-disaster she had with Tom Cruise previously. When he was coming in for an interview, she pulled her mic towards him without realizing it was plugged in.
The wire whipped backwards and nearly hit Cruise in the face. "I literally almost slice his face in half," she said.
Fans can look forward to Ripa and "Live" from Los Angeles the morning after the Oscars on ABC. "The 85th Annual Academy Awards" air this Sunday at 8:30 p.m. EST. "Jimmy Kimmel Live" airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on ABC.
