A serial robber wearing a "Spider-Man" mask has put shop owners on the city's Northwest Side on edge following a series of holdups that police say are connected.

The Spider-Man bandit last struck around 7 p.m. Thursday, when police say the man held up a convenience store in the 3700 block of North Harlem Avenue, NBC Chicago reports.

Police say the robbery is the Spider-Man bandit's third in recent weeks. Police say he is also responsible for holding up a 7-Eleven in the 2700 block of North Harlem around 5 a.m. on Feb. 19 and another robbery at the same 7-Eleven around 9:45 p.m. on Jan. 24. No one was hurt in the robberies.

"It’s a little nerve wrecking because he might strike again," an employee of the 7-Eleven told CBS Chicago last week. "Maybe it might happen on my shift.”

Police last week nabbed another serial robber suspected in more than a dozen recent holdups of fast-food restaurants in Chicago. Police say Jesus Rojas, 23, robbed the multiple stores in order to buy gifts for his girlfriend.

The robbery suspect is being described as a white male between 5 foot 8 and 5 foot 11 and in his 20s. Anyone with information is being asked to contact police at 312-744-8263.
