'Wicked Tuna': Great White Shark Swims Up To The Boat

The guys on "Wicked Tuna" have seen some large fish in their day, but that didn't prepare them to face one of the sea's deadliest predators. A great white shark decided it wanted to see what they were up to and showed no shyness about coming up right alongside their boat.

The guys were very careful about keeping their arms and hands inside the boat at all times, not so much as letting their fingers hang over the side. Once the creature got close enough and they were able to determine definitively that it was a great white shark, they did the only thing they could. They moved.

They reasoned, after all, that no tuna would be in the area if there was a shark hanging about. According to Wired, they're absolutely right. Tuna are definitely a part of the great white's diet, meaning they'd be competing against one of the greatest hunters in the sea, and they certainly wouldn't want to get on its angry side.

See what the crews run into next on "Wicked Tuna," Sundays at 9 p.m. EST on National Geographic.
