Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) has some new digs in the District.

According to the Washington Post, the freshman lawmaker has moved into a $740,000 condo in Penn Quarter.

With over 1400 square feet, two bedrooms and two baths, Warren will not be roughing it -- though, for the area, she hasn't bought an extravagant home, either. (For comparison, a condo in that neighborhood with some 300 extra square feet and an extra half-bath is going for over twice what Warren paid; a place about 400 square feet smaller is on the market for $615,000.)

When the senator isn't taking it to Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke, embarrassing hapless bank regulators or calling the possibility of sequestration "just plain dumb," she can now be found checking out some her new local neighborhood eats, like Hill Country Barbecue.

While Warren's condo isn't in a hip neighborhood, like the U Street condo Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor moved into last year, Penn Quarter is home to plenty of good restaurants and is in close proximity to many landmarks and tourist attractions. It's about a mile and a half to the Senate.

Let's hope Warren remembers to pay her taxes, unlike certain other Senators -- we're looking at Mary Landrieu (D-La.), who was recently found to owe $1200 in real estate taxes and penalties on her Capitol Hill home.
