Parris Island, S.C. is the site of the Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) -- the place where every female marine recruit and male recruits who live east of the Mississippi River go through boot camp.
The women and men who pass through Parris Island undergo 13 weeks of intensive training which includes basic drills, combat shooting, swim qualifications and first aid.
Being at boot camp is clearly about a lot of hard work, as the women pictured below demonstrate.
