"Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman is set to return to Chicago next months to participate in two special screenings of his new film.

Offerman, who was born in suburban Minooka and cut his creative teeth in the city, is set to make a live appearance on Saturday, March 9 at two screenings of "Somebody Up There Like Me" at Chicago's own Music Box Theatre, 3733 N. Southport Ave. The screenings Offerman is attending are at 7:30 and 9:45 p.m., but the film will continue to screen through at least March 14.

In the film, Offerman plays Sal, the long-time best friend of Max Youngman, played by Keith Poulson. The comedy traces the ups and downs of their friendship over the course of three decades. In a promo of the film released last summer, Swanson lit up refreshments of the herbal variety alongside wife Megan Mullally and Alison Brie.

Tickets to the screenings run for a mere $10 and are sure to sell out, so if you want to see the man behind Ron Swanson in person, act fact. If you can't make it in time and still hope to catch a glimpse of the man, you might want to hang around Steppenwolf or the Berghoff, both of which Offerman previously told HuffPost were among his favorite Windy City haunts.
