Paola Antonelli 'Colbert Report' Cameo: MoMA Senior Curator Schools Stephen Colbert On Design (VIDEO)

MoMA Curator Schools Colbert On Design

The Colbert Report

Last night, Paola Antonelli made an appearance on The Colbert Report and the MoMA senior curator schooled the satirical pundit on all things design-related.

The unlikely duo discuss the beautiful simplicity of a vase made by bees and an earthquake-proof school desk. They also dare to determine what era we are currently occupying. Antonelli clears that one up without breaking a sweat, saying, "We are post-post-postmodern, present, pre-future, but a little bit of future today, with the history that comes with us." Yikes. She then assuages Colbert's terrified expression with this sage advice: "Be yourself. Be in the moment. You're going to be modern."

We haven't loved Ms. Antonelli so much since we discovered her Twitter handle was @curiousoctopus.

See MoMA PS1's Young Architect winner below, and let us know your thoughts on "post-post-postmodern" design in the comments section.
