Rachel McAdams And Michael Sheen Breakup Could Be Temporary

Is Their Breakup Just Temporary?

Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen are checking into Heartbreak Hotel, but it turns out their stay could be short-lived.

A source tells E! News that the A-list couple's decision to separate may be temporary -- which means the world's yearning to see McAdams and Ryan Gosling's true love come to life might already be quashed.

"It's likely not permanent. Temporary hiccup," the source reportedly said, adding that the pair will likely get back together.

The news of the breakup first emerged early Wednesday, but no specific cause for the split was cited. McAdams and Sheen had dated for two years, and the "Notebook" actress was quoted last year discussing the long-distance traveling the couple must do in order to spend time together.

McAdams and Sheen first met on the set of the Woody Allen comedy "Midnight in Paris," and they began dating after the film wrapped in 2010. Rumors about the duo's relationship first began swirling after they were spotted together at a Toronto Film Festival after-party in October of that same year. They waited until May 2011 to officially acknowledge their relationship publicly.
