Clinton Cohen Allegedly Set Girlfriend Maria Redman On Fire In Front Of Her Baby

Cops Hunt Man Who Allegedly Set Girlfriend On Fire

A man doused his girlfriend in perfume and then set her on fire with a lighter on Thursday, cops said.

Clinton Cohen, 27, of Springdale, Pa. is on the run after he allegedly left the woman, Maria Redman writhing on the ground, desperately trying to put the fire out as her 3-month-old child sat nearby, according to WTAE.

"While this whole thing was going on, [the baby] was in the room," Allegheny County Police Lt. Jeff Korczyk said. "In fact, the child had some blood on her from her mother."

Redman is in the hospital recovering from burns on more than 30 percent of her body, according to WPXI. She is in critical condition.

The couple were arguing about Cohen's "living arrangements" Korczyk said, according to Trib Total Media.

“I don't know if there had been other problems between the two (with the victim), but we know he has a history of domestic assaults,” Korczyk said.

Cohen is on the loose, but he's charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, arson, risking a catastrophe, child endangerment and reckless endangerment.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the Allegheny County Police at (412) 473-1200.
