Polar Bear Cub At Buffalo Zoo Introduced To The Public (VIDEOS)

WATCH: Unbearably Cute Polar Bear Cub

Here's to a super-cuddly start to the long-awaited weekend.

On Friday, an adorable polar bear cub made her public debut at the Buffalo Zoo, tickling onlookers with her unbearably cute antics.

The baby animal's introduction to the spotlight on Friday was described by Buffalo News:

The snow-white cub was brought into a makeshift enclosure, where it purred audibly after being bottlefed by veterinary technician Alice [Rohauer], and playfully nipped at the hands of her and Zoo President Donna Fernandes.

According to ABC affiliate WKBW News, the cub, who has yet to be named, was born on Nov. 27. The zoo's website writes that she's been hand-raised by Rohauer and other members of the facility's staff.

Though the cub is currently "too small to go on exhibit for the public," she can be seen at the zoo on a closed-circuit TV Monday through Friday from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. In addition, the zoo says that it will be updating its Facebook page regularly with details as the cub grows up.

Tragically, as cute as they are, polar bears like this squeal-worthy cub are in peril in the wild.

According to the International Union for Conservation of Nature, the polar bear -- native to the Arctic Circle and its surroundings -- is a vulnerable species that has been and will be greatly impacted by climactic changes. If the globe continues to warm at its current rate, "polar bears may become extirpated from most of their range within 100 years," the IUCN writes.
