Former basketball player and full-time provaceuteur Dennis Rodman has made headlines over the last few days for his recent trip to North Korea. Rodman took in an exhibition basketball game with the country's authoritarian leader Kim Jong Un on Thursday, after bringing "basketball diplomacy" in the form of a basketball camp for North Korean children and playing with the country's star basketball players.

The experience forged a friendship between the Kim Jong Un and Rodman, the player has said in a number of bizarre reports. "Guess what, I love him," Rodman said. "The guy's really awesome."

Rodman's new friendship is tone deaf to say the least, but he's not the first post 50 to strike up an odd new friendship. While the stakes aren't nearly as high as befriending a human rights violator / annoying the White House, we were still surprised by some of these celebrity friendships.
