Grumpy Cat's SXSW Debut: Tard To Attend Festival, Will Also Star In Upcoming Film 'Lil Bub & Friendz'

GET EXCITED! Grumpy Cat May Be Coming To A Festival Near You

Cute cat connoisseurs not planning to attend the upcoming SXSW festival, prepare to shed some tears.

Other than a sweet lineup of musical acts, movies, comedians and other fun stuff, it looks like pet cat-turned-supermeme Tard the Grumpy Cat will also be making an appearance at the Austin, Tex., event.

After it was announced earlier this week that Grumpy Cat (i.e. the "most important" and "influential" cat of 2012) will be peevishly awaiting her fans at the SXSW Mashable House this weekend, Twitter has been abuzz with excitement:

This is going to be a busy couple of months for Grumpy Cat.

On Wednesday, VICE announced that the curmudgeonly animal will soon be making a big screen debut.

"Lil Bub & Friendz," a documentary by the media group which stars Grumpy Cat and a number of other feline supermemes like Lil Bub, and Keyboard Cat, will be making its worldwide premiere at the 2013 TriBeCa Film Festival in New York City.

The documentary is said to be the "first film to investigate the phenomenon of internet cats and memes, through the tale of Lil Bub's rise to fame," according to a post on VICE.com.

Details of the movie's screenings and premiere at the April film festival have yet to be released; but a teaser trailer is now available for your squealing pleasure. Watch it here:
