'Dukes Of Melrose' Premiere: High-End Consignments Means Aggressive Purchasing (VIDEO)

'Dukes Of Melrose': High-End Consignment, Aggressive Purchasing

Consignment stores aren't just for the middle class. "Dukes of Melrose" follows Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos, owners of Los Angeles' high-end consignment store, Decades. Christos has dubbed himself the "Robin Hood of fashion." He takes designer duds from the super-rich and sells them to the still-rather rich. So not quite Robin Hood, as he's not giving anything away.

When it comes to acquiring things, he can get pretty aggressive. One scene in the premiere saw him literally get into a tug-of-war with a woman over a bag. "This is a great collector’s piece," he said. "I’m gonna take you down for this bag!"

Ultimately the woman parted with it. The bag was a 2006 Prada Ombre Tote that Christos will put up for $650 at Decades. Similar new bags go easily for almost $3,000.

How could the average American ever afford such luxuries? Christos told Glamour magazine one trick. Stop buying Starbucks coffee.

"That's $8. And $8 times 365 is over $2,400, which is enough to get you a vintage Chanel bag by the end of the year," he said. "So basically just don't drink coffee."

See more of his aggressive purchasing tactics as "Dukes of Melrose" continues, Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. EST on Bravo.
