'My Strange Addiction': Woman Puts Vapor Rub On Her Eyelids, In Her Tea (VIDEO)

'My Strange Addiction': Vapor Rub As Creamer In Tea

Everyone knows the smell and feel of vapor rub. It's great for opening up the sinuses if you get a cold. On "My Strange Addiction," 33-year-old Danielle has found plenty of other uses for it, though none of them are recommended. She estimated she spends about $350 a month on vapor rub products.

"I like to put it on my eyelids. It’s like when somebody squirts lemon on your eye, but it’s a good burn," she said.

Danielle also likes to eat the vapor rub. "Just get a scoop, put it on the back of my tongue. It’s hot, and then it turns cold and it keeps going back and forth," she said. And then there's her morning tea. Danielle uses vapor rub like a creamer for the tea.

Upon just hearing about Danielle's addiction before the episode had even aired, Monsters & Critics wrote, "Cuckoo crazy table for one."

Not surprisingly, this is a dangerous practice. There are chemicals in vapor rub that can cause seizures, nervous system damage and even death. After having these risks explained to her by a doctor, Danielle says she's cut back to just one jar of vapor rub a week.
