'Hurts So Bad': Jenni Rivera's Posthumous Song For 'Filly Brown' Movie Released

One Of Jenni Rivera's Last Projects

A new song from late singer Jenni Rivera has been released - marking one of Rivera's last projects.

Called "Hurts So Bad," the track was recorded by Rivera with Edward James Olmos for the upcoming film, "Filly Brown." Rivera and Olmos both appear in the movie which focuses on an aspiring hip-hop artist in L.A.

Lisa Rios, one of the producers of "Filly Brown," spoke about the making of "Hurts So Bad." "That session was like Chicano heaven," she said. "We feel honored to have been part of history that will live on forever."

Olmos spoke earlier about Rivera's death and his respect for her acting abilities, telling Billboard, "News of the plane crash tore my heart out. Jenni was just an amazing force. From the very beginning I've said that she could garner an Academy Award for her work in 'Filly Brown.' She had a tough life, but she also had an extraordinary gift. She touched millions of people and she'll be missed."

Rivera died last December in a plane crash in Mexico. The singer was headed from Monterrey to Toluca when the accident occurred.
