Barbara Feldon, 'Get Smart' Actress, And Her Enviable Hair (PHOTO)

This '60s Icon Had Brains And Beauty

Barbara Feldon may not have been a major '60s icon like Twiggy or Jane Birkin, but she certainly held her own in front of the camera. Feldon's career began in theater, then she later went on to try her hand at modeling, and eventually got her breakout role as Agent 99 on the sitcom "Get Smart."

Yet, this lady had much more than beauty. She had brains, too. Feldon won the title prize on the game show "The $64,000 Question" for correctly answering questions about Shakespeare -- and that's no small feat.

In celebration of Feldon's 80th birthday (on Mar. 12), we are taking a look back at a vintage 1965 photograph of the actress. Her houndstooth blazer and matching skirt reflect the times, as does her winged-tip eyeliner. What we love most about this snapshot is Feldon's enviable 'do -- the half-up, half-down hairstyle has the perfect amount of volume and her bangs work to frame her killer cheekbones. Although the '60s produced some questionable fashion moments, the era was full of beauty tricks.
