'Southland' Season 6: Regina King Talks Renewal And Cancellation Chances

Will 'Southland' Be Renewed?

Fans of the TNT series have been worried about the show's future, especially since stars Ben McKenzie and Shawn Hatosy have both signed on for second-position pilots (i.e. if "Southland" doesn't get renewed for a sixth season, they each have a pilot gig lined up).

The show's leading lady Regina King shed some more light on the possibility of "Southland" Season 6 in an interview with TVLine. “Of course we want it to come back,” King said. “But there are just certain things that [make us think], ‘Are we?’ No one’s told us that we weren’t, but there are enough things that haven’t happened [like promotional support] to question, ‘Are we?’” King admitted, "It could go either way."

McKenzie took to Twitter to pacify fans who were upset about him joining CBS' "The Advocates" pilot and worried about how it would affect the future of "Southland," which is currently in the midst of its fifth season.

"Southland" fans have reason to be concerned about the fate of the show: "Southland" was originally canceled by NBC and then picked up by TNT.

"Southland" airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on TNT.
