Manhattan SkyHouse Apartment Includes Indoor Slide, Glass Bridge And Other Very Cool Features (PHOTOS)

Certain New York apartments come with special amenities: a dishwasher, doorman or outdoor space, if you're lucky.

But for one newly-designed space in lower Manhattan perks include a 4-story open living room, glass walking bridge, a climbing column and a stainless steel slide that snakes through each floor.

This isn't the first time we've seen the childhood staple brought indoors. Artist Carsten Höller, who has created chute installations inside both London's Tate Modern and New York's New Museum, designed a 3-story slide that zips out of Miuccia Prada's otherwise very stark headquarters in Milan.

Architect David Hotson certainly had Holler's work in mind when he built the tubular slide into the upper levels of an 1896 skyscraper, which had not previously been used as a residential space.

The slide, however, is not the only attraction in the modern, clean apartment. Interior designer Ghislaine Viñas added vibrant touches of color throughout the home. An electric green dining table, Day-Glo orange elevator door and other bright pieces of art effectively balance the mostly white space.

Additionally, a floral-patterned "crows nest" sitting area allows one to look out on to Manhattan, while the many glass floors offer the opportunity to spy down on other residents below.
