Rebecca Minkoff Fall 2013 Nails: How To Get This 'Starry Night' Manicure (PHOTOS)

We've Found The Perfect DIY Nail Art For Amateurs

We can spend hours on Instagram scrolling through photos of DIY nail art. It's pretty impressive what someone can fit onto teeny tiny fingernails. But if you suffer from severe shakiness or find it difficult using the opposite writing hand, you're going to love this nail design.

For Rebecca Minkoff's fall 2013 show, manicurists mixed up five nail colors to create a beautiful mess. The "oil slick" design instantly reminded us of Vincent van Gogh's famous "Starry Night" painting, as the metallic shades blended seamlessly and concealed any proof of error.

To get this look at home, you'll need Essie nail polish in As Gold As It Gets, Penny Talk, Go Overboard, Blue Rhapsody and Aruba Blue. Apply each shade in small dots, starting with the darkest nail polish. Then swirl the colors together using a thin paintbrush to mimic. Seal the nail art with a layer of top coat.
