Woman Guilty Of Pushing Husband Out Of 25th-Floor Window

A Tulsa, Oklahoma woman has been convicted of pushing her husband out of their 25th-floor apartment building, sending him falling to his death.

Amber Hilberling, 21, was found guilty of second-degree murder on Monday after two hours of jury deliberation, CBS reported.

Her husband, 23-year-old Joshua Hilberling, was killed in June 2011. After being pushed from the window, he landed on the roof of a parking garage 17 stories below. Amber Himberling was arrested the same day.

She had testified that she pushed her husband in self-defense, KTUL reported. She said she did not mean for him to go through the window, and that the glass in the window was dangerously thin.

Hilberling turned down a plea deal that would have netted her 5 years in prison. Her lawyers said she wanted to proceed with the trial so that she would be able to return to her infant son. She was seven months pregnant when her husband was killed.

The jury recommended a sentence of 25 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
