Lisa Rinna Lip Trouble Is The Topic Of Conversation On 'Today' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Lisa Rinna Talks About Her Lip Trouble On 'Today'

It's hard to think about Lisa Rinna without conjuring images of those infamous lips. Even though she's gotten them reduced, the surgically-enhanced actress seems to run into trouble every time an interviewer brings them up.

While sitting in for Kathie Lee Gifford on "Today" on Monday, Lisa was taken by surprise when co-host Hoda Kotb interrupted the "Celebrity Apprentice" star and said, "Wait, can I ask about your lips?" Of course, this is a topic the 49-year-old has gotten used to talking about over and over again, but she kindly rehashed the issue for Hoda:

"Here's the story: 25 years ago, I had my lips injected with silicone. Stupid thing to do at 24. I saw 'Beaches.' Remember that movie 'Beaches'? I did it with my best girlfriend, so she and I go and we get our lips done. Fine. I have it like that for my whole career, right? So then cut to a couple of years ago, I have a doctor remove as much as they possibly can because it got to the point where they were yucky. You know, they get hard. It's gross. They are now whatever that was after they took out as much of the silicone as they could."

But don't think Lisa harbors any regrets. The self-proclaimed lip injection "pioneer" goes on to tell Hoda that she wouldn't change a thing about her plastic surgery past. "I never had a career before I had the lips," she says. "So my lips have had their own career." (We suppose she can't say the same thing about the rest of her face.)

Watch the clip below (they start talking lips at about 3:15) and tell us what you think. Do you think Lisa Rinna would have had the same career without that eye-catching kisser?
