'The Real World: San Francisco' Returns To MTV For Retro Marathon

IT'S BACK!!!

Making all local Gen X dreams come true, MTV recently announced it would rebroadcast three of its original Real World seasons--including 1994's "The Real World: San Francisco."

Branded "RetroMTV: The Real World," the three-day marathon is a kickoff to the upcoming "Real World: Portland."

"MTV is marathoning old school Real World this weekend," tweeted one fan. "So my weekend is planned."

"Am I the only one excited about old school Real World shows being replayed on MTV?" tweeted another.

No. No, you are not.

The show is widely credited with creating reality television, and, as SFist wisely noted last year, "San Francisco played host to the series' arguably greatest season."

Puck and Pedro's epic blowup? Pedro's heartbreaking public battle with AIDS? It reminds us what reality TV was before rose ceremonies and elimination challenges.

The marathon starts Friday, kicking off with the New York pilot season, followed by Las Vegas. And finally, on Sunday at 8 a.m., the San Francisco grand finale begins.

Basically, we'll see you Monday.
