Bon Jovi's 'What About Now' Debuts At The Top Of The Chart, Beating Out David Bowie's Latest

Proving that everything old is new again, Bon Jovi and David Bowie topped the Billboard charts this week.

"What About Now," Bon Jovi's 12th studio album, debuted at No. 1, serving as the band's fifth No. 1 album. Bon Jovi's first No. 1 was 1986's "Slippery When Wet," followed by 1988's "New Jersey," 2007's "Lost Highway," and 2009's "The Circle."

"What About Now" is Bon Jovi's first album since "The Circle." The album provided fans with a new single, "Because We Can." Bon Jovi is currently playing shows across the world as a part of the band's Because We Can tour.

Bon Jovi beat out David Bowie, whose latest album, "The Next Day," debuted at No. 2. "The Next Day" sold 85,000 copies to the 96,000 copies sold by Bon Jovi. "The Next Day," which is Bowie's 26th studio album, was the highest-charting debut for the veteran rocker, besting his previous record-holder, 1976's "Station to Station," which hit No. 3. The album is Bowie's seventh to reach the top ten. Bowie recently released a new music video with Tilda Swinton for "The Stars (Are Out Tonight)," the second single off of "The Next Day."
