'Law & Order: SVU' Reveals Benson's Mystery Guy, And He's A Familiar Face (VIDEO)

'SVU' Reveals Benson's Mystery Man

After weeks of playing armchair detective, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" spilled the beans on who Olivia Benson has been seeing outside of regular office hours. It didn't look exactly like Olivia and her mystery man were necessarily ready, but these are the risks you take when you keep it within the office.

Munch and Amaro arrived at Cassidy's (Dean Winters') door after a woman came into the station making false claims of rape against him. Cassidy was expecting a Thai food delivery. So was Olivia, who showed up a few second later to see if he needed change. And just like that, the secret was out of the bag.

That wasn't the only reveal for the week, nor the only surprise Amaro had to work through. He also found out he had a kid. And, of course, Cassidy's name was cleared in the alleged rape charges by the end of the hour.

But back to the big romantic reveal, Mariska Hargitay explained to TV Guide why she thinks the two characters are a "perfect fit." She said, "It just feels comfortable and safe and easy. We're exactly what each other needs right now. Both of us have commitment issues and both of us put our work first."

But not completely first, as evidenced by that big reveal scene!

Will their trysts become part of the narrative of the series, or stay mostly in the background? Tune in to "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC to find out.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
