Chad Wolfe, Man Found Dead In Airport Elevator Shaft, Seen In Bizarre Footage Before Death (VIDEO)

Man Found Dead In Elevator Shaft Seen In Bizarre Surveillance Footage

Newly released surveillance footage from Tampa International Airport has revealed the bizarre final moments of a man who was found dead in an elevator shaft.

The body of Chad Wolfe, of West Newton, Penn., was discovered in the shaft Friday morning, WPTV reported. The 31-year-old had flown from Pittsburgh the night before with his girlfriend, Jessica Price. Wolfe and Price had been in a relationship for more than 10 years.

Police do not believe Price played any role in Wolfe's death, and they do not suspect foul play.

Footage from Thursday shows Wolfe behaving erratically, an airport spokeswoman told ABC Action News.

At one point, he can be seen jumping on potted plants and apparently trying to climb a potted tree while Price waits for the airport tram.

Airport Police Chief Paul Sireco notes that "He had a bottle of vodka with him and we found a bottle of vodka on his body … He was highly intoxicated." Sireco added that an empty Xanax bottle was in the man's pocket.

The final clip shows Price and Wolfe heading to different elevators. Officials say Price went to the baggage claim, while Wolfe rode up to the seventh floor parking garage. This is the last time he is seen on tape.

Ten hours later, his body was found in an elevator shaft.

However, a statement released by Tampa International Airport seems to dispute that claim. The statement said locks were inspected on the day of the accident and "were functioning properly."
