Cat Hugs Dog Rescued From Oregon Animal Shelter (PHOTO)

PHOTO: This Cat REALLY Loves The Family's New Dog

This may not be the first enamored cat to hug a dog, let alone kiss one, but it's clear this cat loves the dog more than the pets' owner ever expected.

"We were worried our 17lb. cat would be unhappy about us rescuing a dog from the local shelter," wrote Reddit user vanessuhhh in a caption. The "roughly three[-year-old]" dog, acording to the uploader, "was brought to the Oregon Humane Society by some second chance organization."

Vanessuhhh explained in a caption, "I was expecting them to not actually enjoy each other; at best I was thinking they would coexist but keep their distance. It makes me happy that he is happy."

If you're interested in taking on the responsibility of rescuing a dog or cat, you can find a shelter near you on Petfinder.com and the ASPCA website.
