Frontier Ruckus, Michigan Band, Covers Third Eye Blind's 'Semi-Charmed Life' For A.V. Club (VIDEO)

WATCH: Frontier Ruckus Covers Third Eye Blind Classic

Frontier Ruckus has always had a thing for looking backwards in time, and especially for mining the nostalgia of their Metro Detroit childhoods.

This Michigan folk-influenced band was formed by a couple of Brother Rice High School alums that first made their name playing to college crowds in East Lansing, Grand Rapids and Ann Arbor.

Places, people and memories curated from a lifetime spent in Michigan have proved to be a strong foundation for the songwriting of lead singer Matthew Milia. The folky foursome even made a snapshot of Pontiac's now-abandoned Summit Place Mall (a total '90s mallrat destination) the cover for their second album, "Deadmalls and Nightfalls."

Now supporting their new third album, "Eternity of Dimming," Frontier Ruckus have turned all their musical tools -- banjo, singing saw and sweet melodies -- to one of the catchiest '90s anthems of all, Third Eye Blind's "Semi-Charmed Life."

If you were alive in that decade, there was no way to escape songwriter Stephan Jenkins' fast-talkin' homage to love and crystal meth. With Frontier Ruckus members behind the mics, the guitar lines are softened and those yelping high notes are thankfully toned down, but trust us, the "four right chords" could still make you cry ... "when I'm with you I feel like I could die, and that would be alright, alright." Once you get started with that song, as any child of the '90s remembers, it isn't easy to stop.

That's not the only cover we found from Frontier Ruckus: here's a medley of songs they composed from "The Legend Of Zelda" video game.

Check out Frontier Ruckus on The A.V. Club above, and find out more about their gorgeous new double album, "Eternity of Dimming," available on Quite Scientific Records.
