Stephen Colbert has scored his first interview with former President Bill Clinton and will be hosting the closing session of the 6th annual Clinton Global Initiative University conference on April 6.
"I am thrilled and honored to be interviewing President Clinton, and I assume he is aware this is happening," Colbert said in a statement released Monday by Comedy Central.
Colbert will be taping his interview with Clinton before an audience of 1,000 CGI University students at Washington University in St. Louis, and it will be shown at the conference's closing session, as well as in a special CGI U-themed episode of "The Colbert Report" the week of April 8.
This year's CGI U meeting will have students from approximately 300 schools and 75 countries, along with innovators, celebrities and civic leaders focused on making commitments to address some of the world's most pressing challenges. Participants include Chelsea Clinton, actress Jada Pinkett Smith and Twitter Co-founder Jack Dorsey.
