'Dancing With The Stars': No One Gets Eliminated, But Someone Still Leaves (VIDEO)

'Dancing With The Stars' Elimination Night Surprise

The celebrities faced their first elimination of the season on "Dancing With the Stars," but then no one got eliminated. Instead, one of the celebrities had no choice but to pull herself from the competition. Olympic figure skater Dorothy Hamill suffers from nerve damage in her spine, and the competition proved too much for her to handle.

"I’ve taken the advice of my spine surgeon, and I need to withdraw from the competition," she said. “It would be completely unfair for me to stay in this and have any of these people go home."

According to TV Guide, Dorothy used Monday's performance as a "test" to see what she could handle, and it proved too difficult. She knew she couldn't sustain the level of commitment necessary to compete.

Entertainment Weekly's Annie Barrett was saddened by her departure, writing, "I had such high hopes for Dorothy and Tristan. Injuries are the worst. Well, now everyone has a chance to dance again."

Those dancers at the bottom of the heap just got a huge reprieve, and have one more chance to get it together and impress both the judges and the home audience. "Dancing With the Stars" continues on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
