Mitt Romney: My Grandchildren Winston And Eleanor 'Are Just Darling Little Infants'

With his 2012 presidential campaign in the rear-view mirror, former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney (R) now has more time to spend with his family. At the top of his list of stories -- the grandeur of his grandchildren's names.

That was one of the main topics he addressed in a radio interview with Dennis Miller on Wednesday, as he prepared to celebrate his 44th wedding anniversary with wife, Ann Romney, on Thursday.

“Forty-four great years," Romney remarked. "Amazingly, 21 grandchildren right now. I think it’s 21, it could be 22," he said.

Later in the interview, Miller joked: "Now listen, I don't know if they've even told you this, but you've had two more grandchildren since this interview started," drawing laughter from Romney.

"The last few months ago, we had twins come in, and you can't believe what they're named," Romney said.

"What?" Miller asked.

"Winston and Eleanor," Romney replied, drawing a chuckle from Miller. "I mean, it's going back the glorious days of the 30s and 40s I guess. But these are just darling little infants, and to have such big names on them is really something."

Romney later elaborated on how mystified he was by the children's names.

"When I heard Winston and Eleanor I thought 'it sounds like two English bulldogs.' But they're adorable children. And you know, I don't know what it is about twins. There's something that just melts your heart to see them together in the same little crib, connecting with one another. It really is beautiful."

Earlier this month, Romney did his first interview since November's election loss, opening up about how much of a "roller coaster" ride the 2012 campaign was.

"We were on a roller coaster, exciting and thrilling, ups and downs," Romney told Fox News' Chris Wallace. "But the ride ends. And then you get off. And it's not like, oh, can't we be on a roller coaster the rest of our life? It's like, no, the ride's over."
