They may not be everybody's favorite team, but even some critics found themselves feeling bad for Max & Katie on "The Amazing Race." They were the second team to fall victim to a police speed trap -- Caroline & Jennifer were stunned they couldn't talk their way out of it! -- but their car trouble didn't stop there.
After paying the ticket at the police station, Max immediately proceeded to back into a pole that was right behind the car. He was so flustered, he refused to get out and assess the damage. He simply carried on with the leg. But while Max was frustrated, HitFix noticed that Katie was having fun, at least. They wrote, "Katie was just EVIL this episode. And not in a bad way. Just in an evil way. She mocked Max's driving, his ticket, his fender-bender and even his grammar and she loved every second of it."
Luckily for the couple, Pam & Winnie could not remember their animals and wound up switching tasks at the end of the leg. This allowed Max & Katie to sneak into sixth place, despite both a Speed Bump on the leg and all their mishaps behind the wheel. Pam & Winnie found themselves eliminated after a second place finish last week.
