Conan O'Brien's TBS Contract Renewed Through 2015

Conan O'Brien's TBS contract has been renewed through November 2015, the cable channel announced Monday.

The comedian has hosted "Conan" on the Turner-owned channel since 2010 after leaving NBC, where he hosted "Late Night" and "The Tonight Show." In addition to "Conan," his production company Conaco will also soon launch shows on TBS built around comedians Deon Cole and Pete Holmes.

Although the late night field is growing increasingly crowded and is prone to shake-ups -- rumors are swirling that NBC plans to replace "Tonight Show" host Jay Leno with Jimmy Fallon as early as next year -- most notable contribution of "Conan" to the late night field has been a muscular digital presence. The show's website, Team Coco, has grown into a highly interactive comedy website, utilizing social media tools to not only let viewers watch the entire show on computers and mobile devices, but access behind the scenes video, exclusive content and more.

Additionally, "Conan" draws the youngest median age of any late night show, although its ratings across the board are lower than those of its 11 p.m. competition "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central.

"I just wish we didn’t decide to tell him on April Fools' Day."
