In the immortal words of Jay-Z: "Joes" run this town.

Fresh off the success of "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," Paramount is apparently planning a third installment of the "G.I. Joe" franchise. Variety reports that the decision was made after "Retaliation" grossed $41 million over Easter weekend and $51 million since its debut on Thursday. Overall, "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" has earned $132 million worldwide thus far. That's great news for the studio, which delayed "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" for nine months to convert the film to 3D. It was rumored that "Retaliation" was also pushed back to add more Channing Tatum to the mix, but that claim was denied by director Jon Chu.

"We have 3,000 individual shots that we need to make 3-D and the pressure's on to make sure the 3D helps our movie and isn't half-ass," Chu told HuffPost about the decision to shift the "Joe" release.

In the end, that gamble paid off; "Retaliation" made less during its opening salvo than "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra," but the film projects to earn more overseas. All told, "Retaliation" could gross over $400 million around the globe.
