Girl Scout's Classmates Lend A Hand When Cookie Customer Pays With Counterfeit Money (VIDEO)

We could all stand to learn a thing or two about compassion from the kids of Orangethorpe Elementary School in Fullerton, California.

When one of their classmates received a counterfeit $100 bill in a Girl Scout cookie sale, they took it upon themselves to help her make up the cash, CBS reported last week.

Girl Scout Isabella Conger and her mother were turning in her cookie money when the bank told them about the counterfeit bill. The bank also said that Isabella and her mother would be held responsible for paying the sum back in full.

Isabella was disheartened by the experience, but then classmate Andy Penn, 7, suggested that the class hold a fundraiser.

Each of Isabella's 47 classmates planned to pitch in $2 to contribute a total of $94 on Isabella's behalf.

"For better or worse, our kids are busybodies,” teacher Betty Chang says in the CBS video above. “They want to know everyone’s business and they want to help.”

Andy added, “Doing good things makes a person feel good and it makes you feel good inside, too."
