It's been a tough year for Morrissey.

The English singer has struggled with a multitude of health problems, including a battle with double pneumonia and a bleeding ulcer. Morrissey's waning health forced him to cancel most of his tour dates, with his camp stressing his need for a break in a statement reading, "Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour."

Recent reports indicated that Morrissey's hiatus may actually be the 53-year-old singer's retirement. Morrissey was asked in an interview with a Mexican radio station if he had plans to retire, to which he responded, "I have been cautioned to, but it's difficult for me because it's very ingrained in me."

The music is so ingrained in Morrissey that he may have already scrapped any plans of calling it quits.

Fan site True to You, which heralds itself as a "Morrissey zine," reports that the Smiths alum will hit Mexico in June for shows in seven cities. Morrissey will then play concerts in Chile, Brazil, Peru, and Argentina.

Morrissey's camp has yet to comment on the rumored tour plans.
