White Cowboy Hat, White-Clad Intruder Breaks Into Woman's Bedroom

A bizarrely-dressed

The Des Plaines, Ill. woman woke to noises in her home around 4:45 a.m. Sunday to find a man dressed in white shoes, white jacket and a white cowboy hat standing in her bedroom, CBS Chicago reports.

The Cook County Sheriff's office said the woman's screams drove the intruder away, fleeing through the door of her apartment on the 9000 block of Kennedy Drive, the Daily Herald reports. Police believe the man entered through a window in the apartment.

The woman's roommate reportedly woke to her screams and dialed 911. According to Des Plaines Patch, law enforcement searched the area, but did not find any suspects.

According to police, no one was injured during the incident.

Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart said the women "did the right thing" by calling 911 quickly, and according to a release from the office, further advised the public to keep their windows and doors locked.
