Detroit City Council members want to know how much longer the city will have to pay the salaries of the Financial Advisory Board now that an emergency manager has been hired to fix the financial crisis, essentially making the board obsolete.
Since the nine-member board was appointed last year, the city has paid $113,000 in salaries and expenses. An additional $37,500 is to be paid in June when board members are to receive their quarterly paychecks.
