Tax Day -- the deadline to file your 2012 taxes -- is coming up on Monday, April 15, 2013. One convenient way to file your taxes is through IRS e-file.

If your household income last year was less than $57,000, you can file your federal taxes online at no cost using the IRS' Free File tax software.

Otherwise, you can e-file by using tax preparation software, filling out Free File Fillable Forms or paying a tax preparer.

Failure to file your taxes on time could result in a steep penalty.

If you need more time to file your taxes, be sure to file a tax extension to the IRS on or before April 15.
