Priscilla Queen of the Desert: Inside The Costume Closet At The Arsht Center (JIPSY PHOTOS)

With glitter, confetti and over 500 fabulous Tony Award-winning costumes, Priscilla Queen Of The Desert makes her way to Miami and onto the stage of the Adrienne Arsht Center.

I was invited to visit back stage to take a closer look at those colorful pieces with the help of the tour's Wardrobe Supervisor, Gillian Austin.

Every piece sat perfectly in place ready for the evenings’ performance and as far as the eye could see, every feather, lash, and glittery garment will be used.

“This jacket is on stage for a few minutes and if you’re in the back, you can’t tell these are Barbies,” she said, indicating a blazer emblazoned with the face of the world's most iconic plastic doll.

So if you enjoy musicals that are a good time with outrageous costumes -- and classic dance tracks like “Finally” and “I Will Survive” -- this is the show for you.

Mitzi, Bernadette, Felicia and, of course, Priscilla are entertaining and you'll be moving in your seat and mouthing to the lyrics of a song or two. Tickets are available by calling the Box Office at (305) 949-6722 or visiting www.arshtcenter.org. -- Jipsy
